Of Mice and Men is about what it means to be human. Of Mice and Men teaches a grim lesson about the nature of human existence. George and Lennie's desire to owning their own ranch, and the obstacles that stand in the way of that dream reveal the nature of dreams, self-worth, loneliness, and forfeiture. Ultimately, Lennie,is a mentally handicapped giant who makes George's dream of owning his own ranch worthwhile, ironically becomes the greatest obstacle to achieving that dream.
